Do we need 24 hour stock markets?

NASDAQ and NYSE Arca want longer trading hours to attract global investors and improve price discovery. But is that a good idea? This could bring liquidity issues, high costs, and more volatility.

Finshots talks about whether markets should stay open all the time. Give it a read:

Yes :raised_hands:

Markets should be open 24/7 and support T0 settlement. :white_check_mark:

I hope that doesn’t happen to indian stocks anytime soon.
One reason i avoid commodities, there must be some time to tune out.

liquidity might get spread out too, so probably best only for the most liquid futures - so index futures. Indian markets are probably not traded globally, so demand wont be as much as US.

Forget a 24-hour market; I’d even want a dinner break during the trading session, just like the Japanese market :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Markets being open 24/7 is going to be exhausting :sleepy: :face_exhaling: Market watching going to be the new scrolling :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I currently only do fully automated algo trades (intraday vol trading). :robot:
It has back and now forward tested positive expectancy. :chart:
I want it to trade 24/7 and accumulate more occurrences and money for me
