Does 56,773 Unique PANs Mean Only That Many Investors (individuals) Participated?

I have a question regarding the participation numbers.

The exchange mentioned that on the first day, 515 trading members placed orders for 56,773 unique PANs.

Does this mean that only 56,773 individual investors participated in that particular session across all of India? i.e. millions of investors simply did not participate at that time?

But if you look at it by value, the millions of investors are a quite small piece of that pie compared to these individual investors. These guys are probably the institutions and others who hold the majority of the capital anyway, so this comparison is not right.

Also, it was the first session, so who knows; maybe it will increase in the future.

I doubt it will increase by big difference
as
Pre-open call auction session where 403 trading members participated who placed orders for 42822 unique PAN

My query is simple that only ~50K entities participates ?

True, but in one of the other threads, somebody posted an article by Moneycontrol that said mostly institutions and proprietary trading firms traded.

I don’t think there are going to be millions of them; they are going to be in the thousands, so that number checks out.

yeah seems resonable
