Does shareholders vote really matter?

When we vote to say yes or no, does our vote really matter? Does the company change the decision based on shareholder votes?

Yes it matters. It is the same feeling as to does my vote matters when we vote during general election.

Yes this happens frequently. Couple of examples come to mind from this year.

  1. Shareholders of Eicher motor had rejected MD’s appointment, over renumeration terms. COmpany relented and revised the controversial term

Finally it depends on quality of promoter and voting rights they hold in company. But good management generally try to listen to shareholders.
