Not able to see EGR on kite .

any specific codes for this kindly help

Hi @siva0 , EGR is a new segment on NSE, launched on 4th May 2026. We need to onboard to the segment, and volumes need to pick up before we can enable it on Kite. We will make an announcement when we are ready.

pls I have more doubts regarding the same .

  1. can we use them as collateral and what will be the haircut
  2. EGR will be trade price is same like SGB or we will peg it to international gold prices ?
  3. so these will act like individual stocks or Mutual funds ?

These are not on any approved collateral list yet. As mentioned, they were just launched. The CC will need to approve first, and later we can get other details like haircut, etc.

No, EGR is not like SGB. SGBs were issued by RBI based on prevailing gold rates at the time. They often trade at a discount due to low liquidity in secondary market.

EGR is backed by real physical gold sitting in a vault and the price is determined by demand and supply on the exchange. The price will stay close to global gold prices ly.

They will trade like stocks and will be held in your demat account.

Can’t comment on timelines yet. Also, this depends on how liquidity picks up.

Hi @Sachin_Thakur1 , when volumes are low, spreads are wide and you end up getting bad prices on your orders. So, waiting for liquidity to pick up before we enable it is best for clients.

while we wait for EGR to have a certain level of liquidity, a client who wants to buy EGR may not wait for us to introduce it and open account with some other broker, if adding this product is on our agenda we better add it as soon as possible

Hi @Ravi_Shankar , volumes are still very low. Yesterday, only 2 EGR trades happened with total quantity of 3. You can check this here.

We are tracking liquidity closely before enabling it on Kite.

As you have mentioned that the trade is low for now i can say it is all because of broker like you who can’t predict what is coming in the market and desgin and test the product before habd if a platform like zerodha will not provide with a huge base of investor how can the trading grow i request the team to do this as early as possible as angel one has already provided why you are so slow in this ???
