Equity Trading V/s Option trading long term success

I am an intraday trader and mainly use Market Profile for my technical analysis. Currently, I trade in equities, and I have been able to generate a decent amount of consistent profits.

Now, I am considering moving into options trading. Since options involve additional factors like time decay, volatility, and risk management, I would like to hear from experienced traders.

For those who transitioned from equity intraday trading to options:

  • Was the move worth it?
  • Did your Market Profile approach work well in options?
  • Would you recommend starting with options, or should I continue focusing only on equities?

Looking forward to hearing different perspectives and having a healthy discussion.

If true then continue.

I’d definitely say it’s worth exploring. If you already have an edge in reading price with Market Profile, options can amplify that edge when used correctly. Just don’t treat them like leveraged equities. Spend some time understanding IV and theta, start small, and you’ll probably find options give you much more flexibility in expressing your market view.
