Why Zerodha doesn’t have an Annual (one time payment) for AMC like most of the brokers? Why to charge AMC every Qtr? Won’t it increase more work for everyone? At least provide an option to shift from Qtr to Annual one time AMC payment?
On top of that AMC charging dates are very erratic. I have been tracking them over last few years, and they never get charged on same date. For example, for last 9 months, it was even more random. very confused with their billing system.
Don’t want to speculate, but is it a deceptive practice to charge interest on unpaid AMC of innocent investors I don’t think so, given Zerodha has a reputation to maintain and it is the number one broker in India.
We always calculate each quarter from your account opening date, so each user has a unique cycle. To ensure you’re aware of the charges being posted, an email is sent at least a day before they are posted to the ledger.
We’re working on providing an option to pay upfront a year and a couple of other planned improvements. We’ll keep you updated.
Thanks @TheGouda. I saw similar replies from @nitin a year or two ago, but this feature not added yet. For a innovative and tech giant like Zerodha, this is a piece of cake work to put something together in short time.
@TheGouda you should not be using microscope to see the elephant in the zoo… you r missing the bigger picture of easy of doing business due to concentration on petty issue. Just charge on the 1st of every quarter from this financial year atleast so you will be predictable .
+1 for a annual AMC fee. The fee payment dates are currently very random-feeling and doesn’t make much natural sense. Just charge one a year, or 1st of every quarter. No need to overcomplicate it.
