Everything you need to know about the Global Surfaces Limited IPO

Incorporated in 1991, Global Surfaces Limited is engaged in processing natural stones and manufacturing of engineered quartz via two units in Rajasthan.

Back in 2004, one of these units was being auctioned by the Debts Recovery Tribunal. The company acquired the assets and started the processing of natural stones from this premises, turning it into a profitable venture.

Prior to the acquisition it was engaged in the real estate construction business which they ceased.

Objects of the issue:

  1. Investment in its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Surfaces FZE for part-financing its capital expenditure requirements for setting up of a manufacturing facility for engineered quartz at The Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE);
  2. General corporate purposes.

Feels like a niche industry stock. Any idea which are it’s competitors? Any other listed stocks in this space?

Lots of unorginized granite manufacturers are there and one of the listed competitor is Aro Granite

Aro granite has been more or less flat throughout its entire listing history for almost 15 years and recently has made losses.

Would need to hear few concalls to see how the outlook of the sector is going to be.
