F&o trades Closing Auction Session (CAS) from 3aug

rules will begin for Closing Auction Session (CAS) on 3 augst till 3:40 afternoon…

if any stock future trader want to buy future (like reliance august future) to the most near of close price of reliance august future on that day, how can he get it… ???

By 3.30 one should know close price for the stock, maybe if you want to buy future buy it after 3.30, incase you want it to be close to the day’s closing price.

after 330 if to buy reliance future, will I place market order to get trading at close price of future…???
or only limit prce order are allowed for future options?

will sending market order in place of limit order garantee close to close price for future trade…???/

can anyone please simplify what changes CAS will bring ? what do we need to be mindful of.

Kindly check this.

How does this works on expiry day ? If I exit options position @100. Does price will change ? Because index price will also change.

It could become from OTM to ITM if price changes.

It is really confusing.

If you exit your position then it doesn’t matter what index does later. As your position is closed any change to index will not have any effect on your closed position.

If my position is OTM by 10 points I should exit it. Right ? It can become ITM ? On expiry day.

Index options are cash settled, so no issue. For stock options it can be little risky if strike is close to ATM, but once we know close of stock at around 3.30 we will know for sure if it is OTM or ITM and we will have 10 mins till 3.40 to trade as fno is allowed to trade till 3.40 PM with new CAS from Monday.
