Feature Request GTD, GTC, SL-M+BO+AMO Orders

Hi Zerodha Team,
@nithin

Any plans to introduce:

  • GTD Good Till Date : An order unless filled will be valid till the 'Date’
Useful for catching Future Swing trades to accomodate logic as
Execute order only if it fills within 5 days

  • GTC Good Till Cancelled : An order unless filled will be valid till its cancelled
Useful for Selling Holdings when a certain price hits. Whenever it hits in future.

  • Intraday SL-Market Bracket+AMO order.
A passive order which will get executed when/if a certain price hits next day. This will be a BO meaning it will automatically put the SL and target and cancel the other when either of the one hits.
There should be an option to place this order at non market hours (AMO) for next day execution
(Zerodha should fire these at 9:15 as I guess SL-M orders are not accepted in the premarket)

Thanks

All these 3 things are extremely tough to offer at our scale because exchanges in India don’t support any orders which is more end of day. If exchanges don’t support, we have to keep those orders with us and fire everyday. Many things can go wrong with it.

Hence the next version of sentinel will come with alerts which will have buy/sell buttons for one click execution. So you can just use the alert engine to setup all these order types and more.

Hi nithin,

Counter thought on this.

How bout if someone creates a web app (like small case and other third party) so that the burden of clauses and T&C is on them and zerodha just provide them the bulk API access?

What is the process of getting that tie-up with zerodha.
All these above features will be provided by third party and zerodha is not responsible for if anything goes wrong.

What is your criteria of evaluating or approving third party solutions (like small case)

You can write to [email protected] with a business plan. Our team will get back to you.

Will all due respect the bulk of zerodha or other discount brokerages business is commissions from intraday trading. They have 0 brokerage for equity delivery. So naturally there is less incentive to develop these products (which involves a lot of work) catering to swing / positional traders.
Kotak securities has GTC orders if my memory serves me right

All these features would be super useful if implemented

Can check this.

Hi @siva-reddy,

What I understand is We create a trigger in sentinel and a basket of orders, then a user input/click is required when sentinel triggers price level/alert. The orders wont be executed automatically. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

Yes.

Due to Algo regulations this is not allowed for retailers yet, human intervention is required.

Is it possible to put a percentage feature in sentinel ?
Lets say i want to sell Yes bank every time it falls by 5 percent . I dont want to put a particular price .
Eg it goes from 100 to 130 then it falls by 5 percent and i want to sell.
