Free portfolio tracker I built — no login, data stays on your device

Managing investments across multiple brokers with Excel was getting messy for me. Every tool I tried either required a login or asked me to share my financial data with a third party — which I wasn’t comfortable with.

So I built WatchMyFolio a free, privacy-first portfolio tracker for Indian investors.

What it does:

  • Track stocks, MFs, ETFs and SGBs all in one place
  • Import directly from your Zerodha/broker holdings file — no manual entry needed
  • Sector and asset allocation charts
  • Portfolio health score, top gainer/loser, performance vs Nifty
  • Corporate event alerts (dividends, results) for your holdings

No login. No data leaves your browser. Completely free.

Would love feedback from this community especially if something doesn’t work with your broker’s export format.

Can we track FDs, Digital Assets and bank balances?

We can already do this from trading view, it also tracks pnl and portfolio value, why u built in first place i don’t get

I tried this its good, can add more in analytics like portfolio performance curve. The Fire planner is a good thing to have.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, I really appreciate it.

There are a few shortcomings with TradingView from my perspective:

  1. You need to share your personal finance data.
  2. Ease of use it can be quite complicated, and it doesn’t support direct download/import seamlessly. The file has to be in a very specific format for it to work.
  3. Lastly, both products serve slightly different purposes.

At this stage, I’m not trying to compete with TradingView. The product is still relatively new and will continue to evolve based on user feedback.

I’m definitely looking forward to more suggestions and ideas for improvement.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your appreciation. It really means a lot, especially since this is still a very new application.

Regarding the portfolio curve, if I’m not mistaken, it’s already available on the History page. It captures a daily snapshot of your portfolio whenever you run “Update Prices.”

In case that’s not what you were referring to, could you please elaborate a bit more on what you’re looking for? I’ll definitely try to build it.

Thank you so much for your valuable suggestions.

Yes, I can definitely add support for FDs and PPF, especially for one-time deposits, similar to how some other apps track them. Since the interest for these assets is generally fixed (even though it may change over time), the idea would be fairly straightforward users can add the principal amount and the deposit date, and the application can calculate the simple interest and add it back to the principal annually. We can also support additional inflows, for example in the case of PPF contributions.

Let me know if this approach makes sense to you. If yes, I’ll consider it as a future enhancement.

At the moment, my primary focus is on equity-linked investments, but the platform is definitely not intended to be limited to just that.
