GTT Sell Orders: What if my sell order gets executed and I don't authenticate using TPIN

GTT Orders: What if my sell order gets executed and I don’t authenticate using TPIN

GTT order can be executed any day, so it would require TPIN authentication.

Questions:

  1. How much time do we get to authenticate the sell order?
  2. What if I am unable to authenticate it the day the shares got sold?

If you have not done CDSL Authorization, the sell GTT order will be rejected once triggered. The CDSL authorization is valid only for a day. You can pre-authorize the sale of shares at the beginning of each trading day (from 8 AM) to ensure the GTT order isn’t rejected. More here: What is the validity of my CDSL authorisation?

is there a way to completely remove this dependency. My account doesnt have this issue but my friend who opened recently has this auth.

You can submit DDPI (Demat Debit Pledge Instruction), after this CDSL TPIN and OTP will not be required. You can check the process here: What is Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI)?

@ShubhS9 If I have already submitted POA earlier last year do I need to send DDPI now, afresh? I don’t want to use CDSL TPIN.

Someone from Zerodha please clarify my above doubt.

If you’ve already submitted POA, you don’t have to send DDPI.
