I recently had a minor name correction on my PAN (just an interchange fix) and got a new PAN card. Updating it on Groww was seamless—I just uploaded the new PAN copy, and within two hours, my re-KYC was done.
But with Zerodha, it’s a nightmare. Their support insists I must:
Fill out an account modification form.
Fill out Annexure B.
Attach my updated PAN card.
Attach a masked Aadhaar.
Print and sign each document.
Combine all documents into a single PDF.
E-sign the combined PDF in DigiLocker.
Upload the final file under 5MB.
They specifically require color scans, no compression after e-signing, and all documents combined into one file.
Has anyone actually managed to do this 100% online for a PAN name correction? Is combining everything into one PDF really necessary, or can separate files be uploaded? Keeping all this clear, color-scanned, digitally signed, and under 5MB seems impossible. Any advice?
@nithin_kumrr@SG_13 please look at the agent responses on both tickets and how requirements evolve when one is sorted. In the beginning the color scan was not an ask.
@nithin_kumrr While you address this ticket in particular, please don’t forget my request to ease down on the ton of requirements needed for such re-KYC, in specific to PAN correction or update.
Hope you can persuade the people incharge of this, and ask them and see if this process could be made less burdensome, for everyone trying to update their KYC in the future.
Yep, we’re having these things checked and discussed. I’ll have the compliance bit clarified for myself first, later will share it here as well. Or will have someone from that team to address this.
Last month, I had the same problem, it was nightmare alright after going thro’ all the esign, and upload doc size limitations etc. After half a dozen attempts- every time there was some different “error” to be corrected. Finally, as suggested by one of the customer care personnel , I filled up hard copies with only signatures in all pages., rest left blank except for filling in name modification columns, cross signed photo, then emailed scans of all pages for an “ok” ( including self attested scans of masked Adhaar , pan card, whatever additional address proof ( if given earlier while account opening) before posting the hard copies it to their customer care address, Bangalore.
That, finally worked. One minor name correction was done within a few days as reflected in Kite app.
Hope this helps.
My online application was rejected more than ten times. Anyone can verify it in the tickets I shared above. Each time the customer agent would ask you to send the hard copies to Bangalore office as the first option. There was also one time they rejected saying it’s not a color scan which is nowhere mentioned in the process documents. It seemed they have some investment in paper companies.
Finally my forms were accepted in the ticket and the name updated in the app.
But soon after that I received another request to do a re KYC process through the zerodha console. So was the first one a preliminary check?
Also while I went through the re KYC, I saw a screen where it mentioned upload scanned copy of your pancard and clicking on the button opened camera directly. This interface had no way to get to a file picker. The images taken from the camera was getting rejected for size not below 7.5 mb. I had to do some research on how to adjust the resolution in that interface.
I have a humble request, please try to get into the shoes of a real customer and try this flow out. And then if time permits create an account on groww and check how easy and fast the process is.
