First of all, congratulations on 14 successful years of Zerodha! Your journey and the profitability you’ve achieved are truly commendable and serve as a great inspiration for other businesses.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to ask you a question. From my perspective, it seems like you’ve accomplished everything in life – family, love, fame, wealth, health – you’ve got it all. With such immense capital, you could easily retire and enjoy the luxuries life has to offer. Yet, you continue to work hard every day.
What motivates you to keep going? What drives you to get up each morning and continue working? If I were in your position, I might have sold the business for a significant multiple and retired. Why have you chosen this path? I’d love to hear your honest thoughts.
Life is like playing snakes and ladders; you don’t know when the next downturn will come.
Money beyond a point doesn’t mean anything. It is about doing and spending time on what you love. I love running Zerodha and Rainmatter, and unless I find something I can love more, I don’t think I will retire.
Despite not knowing or interacting with any of them personally, i find the Zerodha’s Core team Very warm, friendly and genuine.
It is hard to explain why i feel that way.,
Not to forget the Moderators here, they too are cool/friendly, diplomatic and patient.
PS:
I accidentally stumbled on this forum, and was hesitant at first to join, as I am not a trader, and as the name of the forum suggests, i thought this was created only for traders, which is mostly true, but i feel even non-traders (investors) could benefit from this forum.
I feel it is the lack of awareness of the existence of this forum, that limits the number of members here. I’m not sure if it is a conscious choice to keep it that way, so that it will be easy to manage.
No, IMO he is an entrepreneur - has been a go-getter and an action taker who knows what to focus on - a characteristic of a top trader. ‘Good investors’ are usually good at doing “nothing” (meant as a positive attribute) and let the basics take care of the returns.
I always wanted to know, How do u guys come up/narrow down on the names, be it the Name of the Organisation/Company or any of its products or brands.
Has the naming of your company/brands been easy and organic ? or were there any difficulties like sounding or resembling an existing name ?
Do u brainstorm and get multiple suggestions from friends and family and finally pick one out of it ?
Did u ever have to drop a name, as it was already registered/ picked by someone else ?
Hope u could share some interesting origin story / thought process that went in to naming all or any of them.
PS:
Is it possible for someone to register the name for a company/organisation/brand without actually having any business? Kinda like pre-booking it now so that it can be used in the future…
