Abhishek87:
I was reading an article on some news portal which showed how much commissions mutual fund distributors earned in 2017-18. Where is data published and can someone post the numbers for the last year?
How much commissions did mutual fund distributors earn in 2017-18 and who were the top earner
₹8500 crores were paid as commissions in the year 2017-18 while ₹5000 crores were paid out in the year 2016-17. Here are the top 10 distributors and the commissions they earned. Here is a Google sheet with the complete commission disclosure. This begs the question is it really sustainable? Each one of should try to spread the word about direct mutual funds to as many people as possibe.

I was wondering how much do distributors earn from commissions? With the rising inflows into Mutual Funds, I am guessing that commission earned must be rising too.
Does anybody have any relevant data for the year 2016-17.
Check this commission disclosure link on AMFI website. The biggest earners FY 15/16 are (the list has over 500 distributors)
NJ India invest : Rs 362 crores
HDFC Bank: Rs 261 crores
ICICI Bank: Rs 169 crores
ICICI securities: Rs 111 crores
All distributors together, a massive Rs 3650 crores was paid out as commissions last year on mutual fund investments to distributors. Only retail investors use distributors, so yeah all of us together have paid this massive amount.
What is also ridiculo…
