How the discount broker charges?

If i create a single order on a discount broker trading platform like Zerodha of 600 shares. And it is fulfilled via 3 separate entities in the breakdown of 200 orders each. Then will I be charged Rs.20 for single transaction or will I be charged for 3 transactions?

For single transaction

This will be considered as single order only. So the brokerage charges will be Rs. 20.

Even if the order is modified with different price points?

Brokerage charged only in EXECUTED ORDERS .

Modification Charges - 0

True. But question is
Suppose I made a order of 100 shares for Rs. 200 each
Now 50 shares got through for this price.
Now I modified order to Rs. 210
Remaining 50 went through.
So now what will be total cost, just Rs. 20 or Rs. 20 for each transaction?
@ShubhS9 one last time, please answer. Thank you in advance

As you have punched two orders 50@200 & 50@210.

Total Brokerage is 40.

Thank you so much

Along with the extra brokerage, you need to be aware that there might also be other charges like STT and Stamp charges because you are essentially placing another buy order. So, please check the charges section here: List of all fees, charges, and taxes on trading and investing – Zerodha and see which buy side charges are applicable. The same senario when you start averaging any stock.

I don’t think Zerodha consider it separate order, if order is modified even after partial order is fulfilled.

If they are the same order (post modification of price in a partial order), then price should not average right?

suppose I place limit order 200 with 100 quantity and 50 quantity fulfilled and price increase so modified it and acquire remaining 50 @210.

Zerodha will charge 20 INR brokerage and other charges,

average price : 205

Okay, so in this case, in your orders/positions tab, how many orders you see?

Will be charged 40 as finally 2 orders are executed.

@ShubhS9 Right?

one order.

average price will be shown as 205. if you click on option you can see order modification history.

This will be considered as one order only. So brokerage will be Rs. 20 not Rs. 40.

I too was wrong regarding the number of orders (not regarding the extra charges). Thanks @ShubhS9

I was in doubt since I opened my demat and refrained from intraday only because of this. lol
