Buying large number of shares using limit price causes buying exhaustion and price decreases almost immediately. My question is to know how many shares to buy at a point. Any strategies?
If you are trading large number of shares in equity, you have an option to choose disclosed quantity. So if you are buying 10000 shares at Rs 100, you can decide to disclose only 1000 shares (your 9000 shares gets hidden).
Look for the option in the order window

How about splitting 5-10 times and using disclosed quantity every time? Wait for price to fall back slightly and then place the next limit order.
