How to delete default layouts saved in cloud to make room for saving new layouts

Hello All,

Writing here for the first time so please let me know if the threaad has already be resolved somewhere else.

I had saved all my drawing for different stocks in a single layout in my older laptop. Upon buying a new laptop i was unable to see this layout, upon further investigation i found that these layouts are saved in the local machine and hence it will not be available across different devices. But if a layout has to be made avaiilable across many devices then it has to be saved as a default layout. But the error I am facing is that when i try to save my layout as my default layout then i get an error saying “chart preference limit reached. try removing any existing templates/drawings to save new preferences”. But i had no idea how do we remove any existing templates/drawings so I raised a ticket for the same and I was told that it is not possible and I will have to draw all my drawings on the new laptop again for all those that have not been saved as the default layout.

After somemore research i found that the layouts are stored in browser ccache. So i also tried to copy my browser cache from my old laptop to new laptop (users/[account name]/appdata/local/google/chrome/user data) but even after copying I am unable to see the layout saved in my old laptop.

Is there anyone who has faced a similar issue could you please help me out with

  1. How to delete layouts saved in cloud - so that I can save my customer layout into default layout and that wy i can access my layout on my new laptop
    OR
  2. Is there any other way to get my layout saved in the local machine of my old laptop into my new laptop.

Any advice/help is greatly apprecciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Rakesh_Kamath_G ,you can remove existing templates and drawings by following the steps explained here: Why is the error 'Chart preference limit reached' displayed while trying to save the settings on the TradingView charts?

Regarding your second question about transferring your old layout to a new laptop, unfortunately, layouts saved on the local machine will not be available across devices.

However, you can save your chart setup as the default layout on TradingView. When you open a chart for any scrip, your saved settings will load automatically and can be accessed from any device, as they are stored in the cloud. Explained here.
