I bought a bank nifty overnight call option but when I was trying to exit it on the same day, it quoted a very high margin required to exit the order. Also, I don’t have any pending orders. I placed the order on Paytm money and after clicking on the exit button, it leads to a sell order window and shows high margin required to place the order. Please help!
The margin shown is for naked standalone position and not for exiting existing position.
You wont need any margin here.
Did you try to exit the existing position by clicking the very position or did you try to exist by clicking the option that is added in the watch list?
If you have bought a position, there is no margin required for selling it, as you have already fully paid for it.
unless he has someother position sold which is being used to hedge the bought position
