How to find how many demat accounts we have without any IDs

Hi,

My parents dont have client ID, DP ID and any emails from broker. But they know they have created demat account, 10 to 15 years ago. I want to find how many accounts linked in their individual PAN and need to close it.

But without knowing any IDs how can I find. If anyone know means, please tell me.

Ask the broker

The best thing you can do is open a new demat account because to fetch the CAS statement process it requires BO ID with the same PAN , once done it shows how many demat IDS you have with respective broker also it will show all the holdings.
You can check this link : :: Central Depository Services (India) Limited ::

Thanks. By using PAN with OTP alone we can able to find? Is there any method?

Dont know about which broker it is

Generate the CAS statement and check the list of demat accounts. Title says Mutual fund but the statement also shows list of demat accounts along with the mutual fund information.

I tried Consolidated Statement, it not have any information about demat number or account.

What options did you select? Try with below options once.

Statement Type = Detailed, Specific Period: From Date = 1 Jan 1970, To Date = Today’s date
Folio Listing = With zero balance folios

yes, those only i selected. Detailed with date on today’s date. But it does not shown any demat details like number or any other, only it showing mutual fund units which are associated with direct AMC.

Open a new demat account under their name and buy some stocks. Wait for a month. Then follow this:

How to Download Consolidated Account Statement (CAS)
CAS statement can be used to identify the number of demat accounts (both CDSL, NSDL) opened under single PAN. It also includes mutual fund investments under SOA form.

  1. Login to :: Central Depository Services (India) Limited ::
  2. Enter PAN no, DOB, BO ID (16 digit demat no available in Kite → Profile page) and Submit
  3. Select the recent month of transaction done and download CAS
  4. If CDSL has not generated your CAS for a particular month, you can email [email protected]

This should work

Thank you

Do you have any stock purchased in that account(s)?
If there’s nothing no need to bother at all. If you wish to open an account for trading or Investing in stock market you can do that. Otherwise no need to worry.

If you’re sure some stocks are there in the portfolio or even if you are not sure whether there’s any investment at all, you can install and sign in MF Central app. Once done, you can check whether there is any DEMAT HOLDINGS. it will show only the Amount. No DP. If it shows some amounts are there, then you can think of opening any New Demat Account. Before that you must learn how to retrieve those stocks/ETFs from your old account.

Hope it will serve your purpose.

Thanks. My concern is i can open new demat but it will not come under BSDA. That is why, need to close old account and start fresh.

Old accounts are in the name of your parents as you mentioned earlier. Do you want to open a new account in their name?

If not, what’s the problem? And by the way you can check first through MF Central as I mentioned, if there is any DEMAT HOLDINGS at all. If it shows, then go for next options. Open new account, then get eCAS from CDSL/NSDL. It will show all the details you need. Then You contact individual brokers and follow the procedure to close them.

Okay, i will try that. Thanks.
