Easiest way is to check for the total traded value for the day. Click here, download the bhavcopy in csv, you can compare traded values of all stocks daily.

I guess the volume should be atleast 10 times more than the quantity you want to trade. In case of Futures and options, open interest is a good parameter to check liquidity.
