How to know whether a stock is liquid or not?

how to know whether a stock is liquid or not?

Easiest way is to check for the total traded value for the day. Click here, download the bhavcopy in csv, you can compare traded values of all stocks daily.

I guess the volume should be atleast 10 times more than the quantity you want to trade. In case of Futures and options, open interest is a good parameter to check liquidity.

Can you explain how to check via OI?

For e.g. check OI on this page for Powergrid for June expiry. – https://www.nseindia.com/live_market/dynaContent/live_watch/option_chain/optionKeys.jsp?symbolCode=2660&symbol=POWERGRID&symbol=POWERGRID&instrument=-&date=-&segmentLink=17&symbolCount=2&segmentLink=17

Above was for options, this is for futures - https://www.nseindia.com/live_market/dynaContent/live_watch/get_quote/GetQuoteFO.jsp?underlying=POWERGRID&instrument=FUTSTK&expiry=29JUN2017&type=-&strike=-
