Hi
I have some questions about IPO application and its allotment:
-
For an IPO to be allotted, does it matter if the Trading + Demat account isn’t being actively used?
My Zerodha trading and demat account hasn’t seen any share sale/purchase since the past 2 years (was somewhat active before that).
I do purchase/sell mutual funds every now and then, so the MF units hits the demat account but trading account doesn’t see any action. So I was wondering if applying for an IPO from an unused account has any role in non-allotment of IPO? -
Among ASBA and UPI methods which one is better for IPO allotment?
When I had newly opened my Zerodha account, I used to get IPO allotment every now and then (I used to apply through my bank’s ASBA back then) but since the past 2 years I have switched to UPI applications through the Zerodha Kite app and I haven’t gotten a single allotment! (Sometimes I still use ASBA but its mostly UPI now).
This makes me wonder is it something to do with the switch to UPI based application? -
Do newer Trading + Demat accounts have a better chance of getting allotments than older accounts?
These questions might be absurb but I have literally got ZERO IPO allotments since the past 2 years even though I apply for almost every good IPO!
Or is it just because many more people have started applying for these IPOs?
I hope someone in the know answers these questions and also about their allotment experience when applying through ASBA vs through the Kite app and UPI.
