Many scripts are listed both in BSE and NSE.
If i hold such a BSE script in Zerodha, Kite shows NSE script in holding and marketwatch.
For example, if i buy CENTEXT in BSE, Zerodha lists CENTEXT from NSE under my holding with NSE Price, and if i try to exit from holding, Zerodha initiates a NSE sell order, which is totally wrong.
I followed it up with Zerodha Support, they told me to workaround it - like add BSE script in market watch and initiate SELL from there.
“Note, in Kite by default it will fetch the data from NSE and shows you the PNL as per NSE LTP. If you wish to sell the scrip in BSE then you can add the same scrip in market watch and you can sell the scrip. If you have bought the share in BSE and if the share got credited in your demat account then you can sell those share in either of the exchange where you get best price.”
Just out of curiosity, why is this an issue? I for one, prefer to sell on NSE even if I bought the stock on BSE since the exchange transaction charges usually work out lower on NSE.
It only makes sense to sell on BSE only if the price of the script on BSE is more favorable than that on NSE.

I badly wanted BSE that day, say penny scripts i was tracking that time (CENTEXT, viseshinfo, etc), were UC on NSE, and available on BSE… later found workaround was - to add BSE scriptcode in market watch explicitly, then buy/sell from it.
I have the same issue, I placed order in NSE however in kite it is incorrectly showing as BSE ( however as per my contract note etc I confirmed again i didn’t by mistake select BSE / i indeed placed order in NSE) is this a bug?
This is not a bug. The stocks in your demat account don’t have any exchange mapped to them. You can sell them either on NSE or BSE, regardless of which exchange you bought the stocks. Your Kite holdings will reflect the exchange price where the previous closing was higher. You can read this for more information.
