We all at some point or other have got random calls from some fake people pretending to be bank employees luring us to give them our atm pin or 16 digit no. or whatever. Banks have taken regular steps to check such fraud and keep sending us sms’s warning against such frauds.
I was wondering, does zerodha also has any similar guidelines regarding this? For example, if some person/app requires us to give our client id, just the id and not the password or our chosen security questions’ answers, should we go ahead? In a nutshell, Can anyone bring harm to us just by knowing our client ID? I think @nithin sir is the best person to reply on this but anyone who has any important information regarding this such as any warning post by zerodha in the past, please do share. That will be helpful for many newbies like me.
Just knowing your client id can’t really bring any harm to you. Also unlike a bank, money can’t really be moved out of trading account. So even if someone got your client ID and password and 2fa answers, the worst he can do is cause a loss to your trading account.
