In case one crosses 5% of the trading volume of shares of an individual company in day trading, then is it necessary that they have to take a delivery of those shares? Plz reply

Is there a limitation on the number of shares one can purchase in intraday for an individual company? Say for ex. ACC Ltd. is running at 1500 a share. Can one purchase 6000 shares (approx. 6% of traded volume for ex.) of ACC Ltd in Intraday without having it to be converted to delivery ? Pl reply.

You can square of your position within day end to avoid delivery. I didn’t hear about the 5% rule you mentioned. Can you tell me the source of this ?

Never came across any such restriction in MIS Intra day. I believe, some companies could be listed as non Intraday companies, something like T2T Trade to Trade companies, in which one has to compulsorily take delivery regardless of any % of shares. They will be tagged as BE or BT i think, instead of EQ.

Other than that as of such no restriction on Intraday purchase of shares, I believe.
