Incorrect dashboard visualization on console

  1. Equity categorization is based on taxation, not on underlying assets. For example, Parag Parikh Dynamic asset allocation fund is classified as 100% Equity based on its taxation rules and ignores the debt component in it.

  2. Market cap split is not correct it doesn’t consider many midcap scrips in my MFs as midcaps for some reason.

  3. Need a separate split for international ETFs or ETFs in general. Classifying ETFs based on the ETF market cap as largecap or midcap doesn’t make any sense. For ex: A smallcap index ETF cannot be classified as largecap because it has higher AUM.

First two - Stockedge is able to solve for it. They also falter on the third one. Any plans to fix the issue on the console dashboard?

Hi @Karthik_Ragu

  1. For most hybrid funds, we categorise them based on taxation. All others securities will be based on their asset classes.
  2. Under the 3rd donut, we display only top 40 stocks of your portfolio. However, we’ll check if there is any issue with the MF composition data in your case.
  3. We show ETFs as a separate sector in the second donut and are considering to show it separately (not as market cap) under the third donut. This logic is being revisited by us.

For the second point, kindly DM us your client ID for us to check further and get back to you.

For #1, Do you think the users use that donut chart for taxation purpose or asset allocation? This chart provides a faulty view of my asset allocation which makes that chart practically useless.

For #2, Why is it restricted to top 40? If you see the donut chart on my account, 33% is unaccounted and I have only 12-14 stocks + MFs.

For #3, would be great if it can be tracked based on underlying assets. Most ETFs are passive and the index is almost fixed for 6 months… So, should be feasible to pull this info.

This is mostly based on asset type. In some rare cases, Taxation could vary, but we’re hanlding those separately in Tax reports.

Beyond a certain number, diversification loses value. We’re currently taking 40 stocks as regular MF schemes would’ve 40-50 stocks. DM you client id, will see if we’ve to tweak logic to make it better.

We do track underlying securities for MF, we’re planning to add ETFs too.

PPFAS Dynamic asset allocation fund has over 60% debt component, but console has tagged it to 100% equity

Checking this.
