FIFO is for tax purpose also, so look is fine, but we will be selling investment shares and shares bought for trading will be added to the existing shares and average price will also get changed.
For that there can be “unallocated” portfolio. Where any purchase will reside first. and then user can move it as per his wish. User will also feel happy doing it
Yes user interface only. not asking to change any tax-rule.
But yes i agree it is little complicated due to tax-rule, the view will puzzle few users who may not be aware.
To work around the tax angle, one can use multiple Demat. Then while accounting you have to be consistent with what you follow.
Multiple Demat accounts = multiple brokers.
This is something we are working on. @mohitmehra will update closer to when we do the testing etc. Please allow us some time, difficult to share a timeline for this.
Hello Dinesh,
I’m excited to hear this,
I’ve been looking forward to such a feature since many months,
Is it possible to elaborate on how this feature would work, and how it can help us.
Thanks,
Srihari

The feature is mostly used by clients who’d want to keep separate Demat accounts for long term and short term portfolio. Also to keep trading activity and investing activity separate for tax computation. Do check your use case in detail also before deciding on this.
Hello Brother.
Thanks for the response.
We have 3-4 portfolio like below :
Momentum (Exiting in 3 months)
Ultimate Stocks (Long Term 2-3years)
Trading
Midcap Value (1-2 years)
Sometimes, Some of stocks will be in multiple portfolio.
Right now, All the stocks are merged in 1 single demat at Zerodha, and we’re tracking it individually by Basket Feature in Zerodha.
So, We were thinking if One could offer to open multiple demat at one broker, or multiple portfolio view in 1 demat. (Grouping)
Is the feature already available at Zerodha?
If yes, how can I avail it?
Thanks again.
Regards
