So I have recd an email from CDSL saying they are implementing a new security feature for safeguarding access to EASI/EASIEST login, which is Two Factor Authentication (2FA).
"This 2FA is a method of authorization necessitating two-layer authentication. 2FA adds an additional layer of protection to prevent an unauthorized access to your account.
For implementation of 2FA, CDSL will introduce an OTP mechanism by which after logging into your account you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email address. This OTP will be valid for 5 minutes from the time of receipt. After entering the OTP, access to your account will be authorized and CDSL application will allow you to proceed further."
btw I had written ( Make It Mandatory for Brokers To Subscribe to CDSL’s Easiest Facility To Transfer Shares: Retail Investors ) this piece over 2 years ago about how so many brokers are rejecting registrations on CDSL’s easiest facility to move shares between demat accounts…things haven’t changed much, have they?
