When and how would I get to know about number of shares allotted in an IPO as a confirmation?

You will be able to find out when the basis of allotment is announced. If you have received an allotment you will get an SMS/Email with the details.

How many days before the listing date allotment confirmation will be communicated?

A timetable of the IPO will be announced which will have the date. Roughly about a week or so before the listing day. We post the timetables for all IPOs here here so that you can keep track.
