I am aware that it is illegal to remit money for leveraged products like options and futures.Does
the same apply for equity ?
Most of the things that are completely legal and proper in many other countries are “illegal” in India. Yup “NATIONALISM” and a way to rob middle class of their wealth.
Hi Nitin,
What if funds are not remitted from India?
E.g. An individual working is US has been doing options trading in US. When he moved to India, He already had funds from his US earnings. He continued to trade on same & never remit funds from India to US.
That should not fall under purview of “liberalized remittance scheme (LRS)”
Could you please share your opinion?

Rohitsharma really make it really good proposal, you can do that trading locating yourself in India basically but do it on funds which are not located there anyway. But how do you withdraw that money in India ? This is permitted cause if you will do it from offshore card it will be prohibited in ATM.
