Is it possible to know which scrips institutions are buying/off-loading?

One way to get this information is by look at portfolio disclosures. By law, institutions such as Mutual Funds have to declare their portfolio holding periodically, once a month if I;m not wrong. You can compare two consecutive months portfolio disclosure to identify which stocks they have bought and sold.

Other institutions such as Private AMC, AIF, FPI, and Hedge Funds need not declare their holdings, hence it is difficult to identify.

Alternatively volumes can be a good indicator of institutional activity. However even with volumes there is no way you can figure out which institution actually made the transaction.

Nope, not possible, unless you have some friend/relative who is Fund Manager or holds a similar high position in these institutions, then he/she can Whatsapp you …
