Is it possible to take a long/short position on an Intraday basis on listing day?

Hello Community,
I wanted to Short CarTrade Today… but it was not allowed. So my question is as follows:

  1. We can not do Intraday trading of any share on its listing day?
  2. If so, is it true for all other platform like upstox, groww, fyers etc?
  3. If not Intraday, we can buy/sell on CNC segment? If yes, then can we change it to Intraday segment later on same day?

Intraday trades are blocked for the first two hours on it’s listing day. The block can be maintained for the whole day or discontinued at the discretion of our risk management team.

We won’t be able to comment on other brokers.

You will be able to buy the stock which is listed using the longterm (CNC) product category. You won’t be able to short the stock on the same day, you can sell the stock only if you have it in your Holdings.
