Is it safe to Authorise Tijori with Kite

I recently checking quarterly result of a company and authorised Tijori from Kite app to check the detailed results. I want to ask is it safe to authorise Tijori with kite.

I would also want to know how to revoke this authorisation.

Hi @Team_Rankings

It is absolutely safe

I already checked this article but in connected apps I can’t see tijori linked in Kite. However, Tijori is already authorised with kite. So why it is not showing in connected apps in my kite account.

Please @Meher_Smaran @ShubhS9 . Can you please tell me why it is not showing in the connected apps. I want to revoke the authorisation.

Hi @Team_Rankings , the app will not show in connected apps if you have already revoked it. However, let me check with the team and get back to you on this.

@Team_Rankings
To open the Fundamentals widget on the Kite app/web, you don’t need to authorize it. I believe authorization is required when using features like the detailed portfolio timeline, where your data (such as holdings information) needs to be shared with Tijori.

Please correct me if I’m wrong @Meher_Smaran

That’s correct, @Champion_Trader

@Team_Rankings , Team has confirmed the same. Once revoked, it won’t show in the connected app list.

Hey @Meher_Smaran I think you did not read it correctly. I have authorized it but still it is not showing in the connected apps. And yes, I have not revoked it yet. Still it is not showing.

I only authorised the Tijori but I am not able to find the option to revoke it. And yes, I am confident that revoke it not done yet. @Meher_Smaran @ShubhS9

So you want to say if it is not showing in the connected apps then it means it is already revoked. Right? @Meher_Smaran

To check this, try clicking on the detailed timeline on the console homepage or by selecting view more info in the fundamentals widget on Kite. If it asks for authorization, it means the previous authorization has been revoked.

Here is the use case:

There are two options to check the data on Tijori:

  1. When you click on the link in the Kite app, it opens the browser and logs into Tijori using Zerodha. However, there is no revoke option in the Kite app backend like other apps.

  2. Install the Tijori Android app and click on “Login with Kite” to log in. Now, it shows the Tijori app in the revoke list like other apps.

Don’t think so. This is how I understand it.

When we check on the fundamentals of any stock and click on the “View more info”, we authorise Tijori by logging in through the Kite App, however this authorisation through kite login doesn’t seem to appear in the list of connected apps.

(Is this because the authorization takes us to the Tijori website, and not the Tijori app ?)

To confirm this, i downloaded the Tijori-android app and signed in with the Kite credentials, now, this authorisation seems to appear in the list of connected apps as shown .

So, it seems when we access Tijori directly from the Kite app, it doesn’t consider this as an authorisation, and this doesn’t show up in the connected apps.

I assumed by logging out of the Tijori site, my authorisation would get revoked automatically, and i would be prompted to authorise again.
But it doesn’t seem to work that way, even after logging out of the Tijori website, when i click on “View more info” again in Kite, it is automatically logging me in.

PS.
This is true even for Tickertape, when we analyse our holdings by sharing it with Tickertape, Tickertape is not shown in the list of connected apps, even though I’m authorising Tickertape to view my holdings.

This has been noted and will be addressed soon.

No personal user details, such as client ID, email, or mobile number, are shared with Tickertape for this analysis. The insights are generated solely based on the ISIN provided, so this does not apply.

I’m confused by this as well. I wanted to check an Event from a company in Kite Portfolio and it asked me to authorize Tijori. I didn’t know (and wasn’t informed) what data would be shared with Tijori and agreed to it.

Tijori immediately got my full name, email address and the entire portfolio from Zerodha.

  • Tijori does not show in the list of authorized apps in Kite. So there’s no way to revoke anything.

  • Within Tijori, there is no way to delete the account that’s been created either.

More clarity would help on this front. And in the authorization screen on Kite, it should clearly mention what data will be shared with Tijori.

No response.

Nothing is absolutely safe ever. Do you know where they store the data? What data is shared with whom? Is there a authorization protocol or levels of access in place? What happens in case of breach? Do they disclose the breach or just cover it up because it is India? Have you read their privacy policy? What are the points of contention in their privacy policy? Do you know for certain that they even adhere to the policy?

I would really appreciate some clarity (and changes on the authorization screens) here.
