Hello Community, I am trying to find out the current value of the mutual fund statement. I couldn’t get the details of this particular fund from internet or from AMC. Could anyone help me find out the current value of this particular fund so that I take a decision to demat or redeem?

If folio number is readable and you can prove the ownership (or ownership chain) reasonably, AMC will provide you information about current name of the fund, category, broker name and current NAV. There is no reason, that AMC should not provide you details.
I had simple account statement of kothari pioneer Mutual fund of 1994 era, nothing else.
Not only fund name but AMC was also changed but in 2021 I was able to encash the units after completing due process!
BTW quick google search indicates Taraus starshare fund new name is “Taurus Starshare (Multi Cap) Fund” and launch date is 29 Jan 1994. today NAV is 239/-.
So if googlebaba is correct, your investment has grown 23-24 times… Congratulations!
Taurus AMC did not answer? they are still active right.
“Formerly known as Taurus Starshare, Taurus Flexi Cap Fund is currently allocating to the stocks across market capitalisation and sectors.”
One of India’s oldest schemes. It could easily be worth a lot depending on initial investment. Current value of each unit is ~230-240.
Do note that some unit ratio or split could have taken place when name changed or fund transferred. Best to contact AMC or CAMS/KFintech.
This is not a share certificate so I don’t know whether dematerisation is applicable. But yeah you should definitely redeem and move to a good fund. Taurus funds have very very high fees, not worth it in my opinion. Calculate tax you will pay, Should be lower due to it being very old. 2018 grandfathering thing should come into effect for this.
