Searching Zerodha API leads to kite.trade which looks like a paid developer site.

Is there an option to access my retail Zerodha account via API?

(So I can access my data in Excel, or create a Python program to place orders without using browser?)

Kite Connect APIs are available for retail users as well as startups.

For retail users, the charges are ₹ 2000 per app each month.

There is no free API for retail users? Even if I want to query a few times a month?
