Hello all.
Recently, there was a corporate action (aquisition) between Kesoram Industries and Ultratech Cement.
Ultratech is buying Kesoram’s cement business.
Share swap ratio was fixed at 1:52
Meaning, 1 share of Ultratech for every 52 shares of Kesoram.
I hold 139 shares of Kesoram.
I will get 2 shares for Ultratech for 104 shares of Kesoram. But what about the remaining 25 shares?
Price of those shares has dropped from my purchase price of 214 to below 8.
How will a shareholder like me, be compensated for the loss on those 25 shares?
Kindly shed some light on it.
Thank you
You will be compensated in cash for those fractional shares.
Here, the 25 shares of Kesoram roughly translate to ~0.5 or half a share of UltraTech.
It might take a couple of months for the proceeds to be credited to your bank account.
I heard it is 45 working day.
Zerodha CC informed
Yeah, so the working days here would mean the weekdays (barring any holidays).
A month has roughly ~22 weekdays, so 45 working days would mean it would take a couple of months.
