@nithin As we know there’s lots of difficulties in auto kill switch execution by platform, here I would like to suggest one possible solution that can be helpful to users and also safer from platform perspective.
As i have read in earlier discussions on this topic, its easy to know the PnL but difficult to execute Kill switch and exit orders as if any wrong order execution done, it will come back to Platform.
So what I suggest is Just let the user set max loss threshold & once that mark is reached in intraday just nudge the user “Would you like to do Kill switch and exit all open positions if any?” Based on user selection Yes or No Kill switch need to activate.
By this way liabilities will not be on zerodha platform for any wrong order execution etc as The user only activating the kill switch by selecting Yes. & also more useful from user perspective as it will be far more easy in the heat of moment and emotions to activate kill switch by just selecting Yes instead of going to console.

Dear Team,
Just sharing a trader’s perspective:
1. The core objective of a kill switch is to control emotional trading. Once emotions take over, manual confirmation defeats the purpose.
2. A pre-defined automatic kill switch helps traders avoid momentary emotional decisions — which is not possible if user intervention is required at that moment.
3. Even if there is minor slippage during auto P&L-based exits, it is far better than uncontrolled losses. A clear disclosure about non-exact execution prices is acceptable, but AUTO kill switch is essential.
4. Regarding technical limitations, Dhan already offers P&L-based exit with a pre-defined automatic kill switch, so it is clearly feasible.
Hope Zerodha considers this from a real trader-psychology perspective.
We will release alert in next two or three weeks, once it is stabilized direct exit orders will be released, after that we will link kill switch to it.
I completely understand your concern. An auto kill switch would be a really valuable feature for risk management, and I know many users are looking forward to it. Hopefully, the team can share an update or an expected timeline soon. Looking forward to hearing from the developers.
That is a third party platform, so ideally we won’t recommend it.
We released trailing stop loss last week , screener this week, testing on trading from chart on app, working on US stocks, pnl alerts, SIP new design etc, so pnl alerts should come in coming months.
CAS implementation pushed all releases a little further, we just releasing TFC on app, should take one week to go live for all, working on US investing, planning to go beta by this month end or early next month, only after that we can come up with pnl alerts.
