KITE/GTT: Insufficient funds

With regard to the gtt order, let us say one orders a set os scrips in gtt mode, of which after a few execution if the fund gets exhausted, what happens to the remaining scrips in the order. Will it just cancel all the remaining scrips? If it cancels, does it charge any penalty or fees?

If you don’t have enough funds in your account after the GTT is triggered the order placed will be rejected due to insufficient funds.

No, there are no penalties.

It just cancel the orders?

Yes, as I said above, your order will be rejected due to insufficient funds.

Thanks for the clarification.

BTW, about the limit and market price (for a BUY order), could u please clarify the following:

  1. If market price is lower than the limit price, at which price does it buy? (the question is for GTT as well as normal buy order).
  2. In GTT case, if market price is below the specified trigger price, at which price does it trigger?
  3. In GTT case, if the market price is above the trigger price but below the limit price, at which price does it buy?

If market price in lower than Limit Buy price then the order will get executed at best available price in the market, it will essentially turn into Market Order.

The GTT is triggered only when the price reaches your trigger price.

Considering your GTT is triggered in this scenario, you Buy Order will be executed at best available price in the market as CMP in below the Limit Price.

Thank you
