I was told by sales team at Zerodha that new version of Kite web 2.0 is about to be released. I was looking at the site now around midnight, looks like it just turned from web 1.0 to web 2.0. Can someone tell me what is new?

Usually stay off from answering Zerodha related questions on tradingqna, but will make an exception this time. :) Yes, we released the latest version of Kite early morning today. There are many UI changes, new features, and optimizations done to give you a better experience. Find below few new bits.Â
New Dashboard
You can now see the quantity of your equity holdings on the watchlist. Indices are highlighted. Dashboard also gives you a quick summary of your account, along with visualization of your holdings and positions. Also you can now search for a scrip and place a buy/sell order without having to add them first on the watchlist.Â
Bracket and Cover orders
The most popular request :). On Kite, bracket orders will need you to enter only absolute values to remove all confusion (no ticks option like in Pi).
So what this means is if you are placing a buy order at 100 and want square off 2 point above and SL 2 point below, with trailing stoploss of 1, you place a limit buy order of 100, STOPLOSS as 2, SQUARE OFF as 2, TRAILING SL as 1. Trailing SL is optional (minimum TSL for equity/F&O is 1 and for curency is 0.5). If you want entry order in a bracket to work like a market, place a limit order much above the current price in case of buying entry limit or place a limit order much below the current price in case  of selling entry limit order. Â

New Holdings and Positions window
Along with the new visualiztion, you can now sort and/or filter with ease. Clicking on historical will give you immediate access to all trading history from Q. You can also export all tables in CSV.Â
Enhancements on charting and more
Charting gets more power, unlimited amounts of intraday data, BSE charts now available, smart notifications, intelligent search bars, and much more. We will put up videos on all of this soon.  For more on charting, you can check our orignal post introducing Kite.Â

Thank you for the new updates . Though you have tried your best to explain stuff . Still it seems complicated as mentioned by you request please put together video as soon as possible which will help in eliminating the R & D process of an trader and quickly he can start to using KITE effectively and efficiently because your motive of investing time & money in building best trading software in India can only be accomplished when traders can successfully use the software and that can only be achieved when traders can make maximum use of your efforts via a video training tutorial .

This is fantastic improvement from Zerodha. However I tried to login in kite web today with my existing ID & Passwords been asked to reset the passwords.
I even did that too but again asking me to reset passwords else back to login, so unable to land on any navigation of Zerodha web.
Kindly advise if I am missing anything here.
I Think new technology and upgrading skill is must for a Trader & Investor but one must keep one thing in their mind is that, His/Her objective is to make money through trading Investing , but not too much indulging in software development. Most of the time Simple things works better. Happy Trading

Features are great, UI is great, everything looks so good,
But just can’t use it in live market coz u never know when it starts giving errors…, And there is always some reasons to blame external factors…
Still hoping for a stable platform

It a good system. But I agree it is lacking some key functionality such as alerts and triggers (via sms and email). I know that PI offers features like that but I have installed it in office and cannot login and hence I am stuck with using Kotak trading system (this works).
Not sure if the features available in PI will ever become available in Kite).

Thank you Mr.Nitin for new updates on Kite trading platform, i would like to suggest or comment, please remove colour bar graphs in Dash board/holdings of Kite, as it is not required , and may take more time to load, on an also take more spaces on your servers, please keep it as simple as possible like the previous version

Fantastic work by team Zerodha. Congratulations on this new version you have introduced.
However 1 concern i see in the holdings section of kite, there used to P&L section which actually shows the profit or loss on the holdings, but i see they are not correct. Can you see if this is an issue with everyone ?
