During last few days, I am observing in option chains, there are few strikes in which no volume has taken place which are near the money too. What’s the case.
I am attaching Kotak Bank Option chain in which 1670-1740 ce has 0 volume and that too on expiry day.
There is another quiery same as of PNB 134 PE and 136PE, there is no buyer and seller, and also there is volume in 135 PE, 133, 132, 131, 130PE but in 134. And also it cannot be searched in Zerodha. I am attaching screenshort of that as well.
I can see that there was some volume in the 50s strikes 1650-1700-1750. This is quite normal in the next month’s expiry (April month expired only yesterday).
You will see some volume picking up today in some of the 10s strikes but it still won’t be a lot.
NSE has updated their strike interval and step value for new strikes, which now allows the introduction of both 1s and 2.5 strike intervals. We’ll write a detailed post explaining how this works by Monday.
