Large number of paid news in Zerodha Pulse

I often visit Pulse by Zerodha to look at the latest financial news. But I am frustrated by seeing the amount of paywalls it contains. Almost 50% news are from the sites that ask for a payment. I understand that Zerodha does not filter anything, it crawls the internet and presents the headlines in a summarized form. But I think it can at least use some static filter based on the domains and segregate the paid news either in a separate section, or by highlighting them in a different color. This can work as a precursor of what we should expect once we click on a link with some anticipation. Of course in the era of AI we can build a much more intelligent news summary than this basic filtering but that may be too high to ask from Zerodha.

Pulse aggregates headlines through RSS feeds provided by publishers. We only receive the headline, summary, and source link. However, indicating whether an article is freely accessible or paid is difficult.

We’ll have this checked. Thanks for the feedback. @SudiptaGT

One way to segregate the paid links can be inspecting the source link that you receive in the RSS feed. If it contains some of the known websites for paid news, highlight them in a different color (or move them into a different section). It won’t be full proof obviously, but it will be better than what we have today. I am sure your engineers can think of a far better technique though.
