What is the end-to-end latency of the platform — from the moment an order hits your API server to when the response is written back? Specifically, including the time for the API server to send the order to the co-located OMS, the OMS to route it to the exchange, the exchange to respond, and the response to travel back through the OMS to the API server. What would the worst-case latency be during periods of high market volatility?
Based on my experience and testing with the Kite Connect API across various market conditions (including peak times like market open and closing), I’ve observed that the order placement latency generally falls within the range of 75 to 500 milliseconds (ms).
It’s also worth noting that in side-by-side comparisons with other brokers, the latency figures were quite competitive; I didn’t observe any drastic performance gap.
