Learn about Trading, Is it possible through Varsity?

Hi Guys, I am new to trading or investing in Stock Market, my knowledge in stock market is minimal but I am intrested in learning it. What I want to know is, if its possible to get a good knowledge about the stock market and its related fields through Zerodha Varsity? Or should I try some other method to learn about trading ?

If anyone could shed some light on this matter, it would be great. How will I start this Journey?

Yes, it’s a good website to learn. Alternatively youtube videos… But you know what’s authentic and good material

I’ll be honest with my answers.

Zerodha Varsity is the best portal available on the market to learn stock trading and investing in India.
You’ll get complete therotical knowledge just like they teach you in your college.

After learning from Varsity can you directly start trading and expect to generate profits, well its very unlikely. But you’ll have the stronghold on basics and really its a good start. Once you finish reading through varsity I suggest you to raise a new topic on Varsity done what’s next.

Until then I don’t suggest you to watch any youtube videos or start trading or investing immediately.

Happy reading.

Yes, Zerodha Varsity is good place to start. You need good commitment to complete all the modules. Many people will start but only few will end. Some people might get bored after starting, some might not understand the concepts just by reading so then comes the you tube videos. Select the good you tube channels. Don’t just randomly pick some channel and follow. You can parallelly go through Varsity and youtube videos.

Varsity is a good place to start for the theory part. But remember you cannot learn to cycle without getting on a bicycle or you cannot learn swimming without diving in to the pool. Just like that to learn trading you would need bit of money to experiment in market and figure out what really works for you. This is ofcourse after a round of solid theory.

Thankyou guys  :+1:

It’s a good place to learn for sure. Side by side, you can also go through other websites to revise your lessons.

thank you @vaibhavpanda

Zerodha Varsity is good. But you can first try your hand in paper trading. This will result in good practice and will help you practice.

Thank you @SMIFS_LIMITED :+1: :+1:

zerodha varsity is insanely good from investing perspective and giving all info. But from trading perspective this depends on how you approach trading.

Everyone has different approach to both trading and investing and so does their requirement.

I purely approach investment to protect myself from inflation and also to get some good up side. But if you are good with understanding companies their management then go ahead buy stocks and stay invested.

As far as trading goes by, there are plenty or ocean of ways support and resistance, price action, fibonacci retracements , NNFX way, ICT way etc. And money management ways are also plenty like DCA, martingale, reinvesting profits , ratios etc. For trading you need to paper trade . first do backtesting and then do forwardtesting. There is no right or wrong way. You need to figure out your own way and frankly everyone does one way or other. The biggest challenge is managing emotions and not being bitten by leverage.

Zerodha Varsity is the best theoretical material regarding stock market available on internet. But if you are entering the trading field then please be ready psychologically for giving your time and energy for minimum of ‘three years’.
Trading is very consuming emotionally. Must have some other primary source of income first to take care of basic needs then you’ll have a higher chance of success.
