Life Cycle Funds are the latest mutual fund category

If you’ve been seeing articles about Life Cycle Funds over the last couple of days, they’re a new category of mutual funds that automatically adjust their asset allocation as the target year approaches. The fund starts with a higher allocation to equity in the early years and gradually shifts towards debt and other relatively conservative assets closer to the target date. The aim is to keep the portfolio aligned with the investment horizon while reducing the need for manual rebalancing.

I wasn’t aware that the new Lifecycle Funds were available and only came across it through a Chrome news article. It would be helpful if such launches could be communicated within the app or through a notification so users can discover them more easily.

Base Expense ratio seems to be really high to start with (2% +) or I am misreading SID.

The first 2 lifecycle funds from Zerodha Fund House are now open.

What’s the expense ratio?

This is a new scheme. TER details shall be available from the first NAV date.
