List of all passive mutual funds (index funds) and exchange traded funds (ETFs) in India

We’ve been seeing some queries around people wanting to invest passively. Here’s a comprehensive list of all passive mutual funds and exchanged traded funds categorized according to the index type/category.

I have also included smart beta mutual funds and smart beta ETFs, although they are more hybrid in nature. But since they track a rules based index, they do have passive characteristics.

If an expense ratio is missing for a fund/ETF, that means that it is newly launched and the AMC is yet to define an expense ratio. However, the AMC would have disclosed an expense ratio range in the scheme information document and it would fall within that.

When choosing an index fund or an ETF, tracking error is the most important metric. What a tracking error shows is how closely a fund tracks the underlying benchmark. It should be as low as possible.

Thanks.
Do you have the tracking error details of these funds?

Couldn’t find this ETF on Kite market watch. Am I missing something when I search for “Reliance ETF Sensex”?

“RELSENSEX” is the ticker

I’ll try putting them up but in the meanwhile, you’ll have to peruse through the factsheets.

Thanks! it looks like not most of the ETFs don’t have liquidity comparable to Niftybees

If you want to invest in Nifty, then Reliance NiftyBees and SBI Nifty ETF have good volumes and low tracking error. Valueresearch provides a visualization of the NAV and the price.

For example here’s the NAV vs price of SBI Nifty ETF.

Kotak NV20 ETF we can Pledge in zerodha

Nope. Here’s what you can.

@Bhuvan, thanks for providing the list of passive funds and their expense ratio.

however i cant see in coin mobile app following fund :

HDFC Index Nifty 50 Plan - Direct Plan

also any update on tracking error info ?

BSE Star MF isn’t allowing fresh purchases of this fund. But doesn’t matter really. UTI slashed the expense ratio of Nifty Index fund to 10bps. So you have choices.

Haven’t gotten around to collating it. You will have to do it the old fashioned way of looking at the factsheets I’m afraid

check this for all details https://twitter.com/IndiaEtfs

thanks @rahulkind

This is really great thread. Thank you for sharing this useful information with forum members. Can you maybe recommend if there is good website where prices can be followed on a daily basis?

You can on kite.zerodha.com.

@Bhuvan It will be very helpful if you can update this list of index funds.

This is updated as of a couple of weeks. I think there was just 1 or 2 etf launches after that.

Would it be possible to include Gold ETFs and Nifty IT index’s ETFs on this list?

Also, could the names for Reliance’s ETF be changed to Nippon India as the parent company decided to change its name -

Lastly, could the list present in the support page also be synced up with this list?
