Live Data API for options

Hi all,

I need an API for live market data (both stocks and derivatives). Ideally a simple rest API which can return quotes/LTP for multiple scrips in a single go when my script requests for it. Websockets is not really needed.

What will be the most cost effective way to do the same? So far I know:

  • Kite data API will cost me Rs. 2k + 2k = 4000/- per month, even if I do not need the order execution apis.

  • Dhan data API is only Rs. 500/- per month, but it is quite buggy and supports only websockets.

  • Upstox I read is free till end of August? But I haven’t tried it.

  • Anything else?

With Zerodha, for Live API Data you only need to subscribe for 2k. You dont need the historical api access (which costs additional 2k)

Almost every other broker offers free API access btw.

Thanks for the replies. So far I have trading account with Zerodha, Dhan and ICICI Direct.
Don’t really want to open a new one. Will Upstox or Finvasia or any other broker give access to free or cheap API without opening a trading/demat account?

Have you even checked its price?

It’s like 50k per year. Others are giving it for free. AngelOne, Upstox, Dhan (trading api).
