Its better you observe the markets and deduce which scrips to be invested. If you follow tips from others, most likely you will end up somewhere, where you have not intended to. In this forum, people are not supposed to give stock tips.
But if you insist, here is my tip.

You can have a look at the CNX 500 stocks and filter filter 94% (470 of the stocks) and take the remaining 30 for your investment pattern.

  1. Check the Total Debt of the company for last 5 years. If the company is having too much debt than their yearly profits (that they cannot even pay their debts in 2 years or so), discard the company (Give some tolerance for Energy and Bank sectors as they usually do have lot of debts, but could well in the market)

  2. Then check out the Cash Flow and Year Profits pattern and see whether they are in increasing trend. Cash Flow could not have a trend due to expansion of business in certain years. Give tolerance for that.

  3. Then check out whether the promoter shares are pledged or not? If the % of shares pledged is too high then stay out of that company.

Only based on debt levels and yearly profits trend, you could discard almost 90% of the companies in a jiffy.

The remaining 10%, you check the brand value, Share Price Trend, dividents and splits and see the recent quarterly results etc. I am sure you can discard remaining 4% of the companies and choose the 30 companies what you wanted.

Note: these 500 companies information is available in moneycontrol website, you need to check for each of the 500 scrips.

Good Luck!

An easier way would be to use Google Stock screener to screen stocks based on ROE >20% , P/E <35 ,D/E and NPM /OPM and so on …

or you may choose fundamentally strong stocks looking at what mutual funds have in their portfolio
