I’m exploring ways to build a chart screener that can identify specific technical setups, rather than just screening based on standard indicators.
For example, I’m interested in setups such as:
- Trendline breaks / breakouts
- Flag or pennant breakouts
- Price breaking out of a defined consolidation pattern
- Potentially combining multiple conditions to identify a specific chart structure
I’ve heard that TradingView can be used to create custom screeners or scripts for this type of analysis with premium subscription , but I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has actually built, tested, or used something similar other than TV.
Have you created custom chart-pattern screeners in TradingView, or used other tools/platforms for this?
If you have experience with any automated chart-pattern detection, or alternative screening tools, I’d really appreciate hearing about your approach, what worked well, and any limitations you encountered.
