In line with SEBI’s new rules for index derivatives, the minimum contract value for newly launched index F&O contracts should have a minimum contract value of Rs. 15 lakhs. Starting November 20, 2024, NSE will be revising the lot size for various indices to meet this criteria.

The lot size for existing contracts will remain the same until they expire, while the lot size for contracts being introduced after November 20, 2024, will be as follows:

Till 26th December 2024, nothing will change for you. After 26th December 2024, the lot size for these contracts will change to 75. So, if you don’t exit your contracts before 27th December 2024, you won’t be able to exit your positions after that. You will have to hold your contracts till they expire in December 2025.

As long as you have positions with multiples of the new lot size it won’t be a problem. If no, then you can add more lots to make the position a multiple of the revised lot size. Or if you don’t have more capital you may exit the trade before the revised lot size comes into effect.

SEBI’s new rules require the minimum contract value for index F&O to be at least ₹15 lakhs. Do these changes affect the lot sizes and margins for index stocks in F&O?

No … thse changes only fr index

So there will be two Weekly Expirations, and on the Last Week of every month, it will be every day as all Monthly Contracts Expire. Is that right?

Yep,
