Market holiday calendar 2023

Fifteen holidays in 2023 & six long weekends.

Full-time trading is mentally draining, and taking occasional breaks to refresh is important.

Here’s the market holiday calendar for 2023 so that you can plan your holidays in advance :beach_umbrella:

Please note that 1-Feb-2020 - was a SATURDAY, other then that, all above trading sessions were normal WEEKDAYS.

Another easy way of testing, if your database has got the data for all the trading sessions or not, is to count the number of unique days for which the data is present in your database. The number of trading session should match this list -

2016 - 247
2017 - 248
2018 - 246
2019 - 245
2020 - 252
2021 - 248
2022 - 248
2023 - 246

I have included the trading session that happens on “DIWALI - LAXMI PUJAN*” day in the above list.
If you want to exclude it from your database, because very less trading happens on that day and it is not necessary to include it into the Historical Backtesting, then please make use of the following list to exclude those trading sessions -

DIWALI - LAXMI PUJAN* Trading Session Dates -
30-Oct-2016
19-Oct-2017
7-Nov-2018
27-Oct-2019
14-Nov-2020
4-Nov-2021
24-Oct-2022
12-Nov-2023

If you find any errors in the above lists, then please kindly let me know, so that I can make the necessary corrections and share the updated list.

Please share these lists into any trading groups, where it could be useful for other friends.

Thanks and regards
