On NSE website (nseindia.com), there are several daily files available under the “All Reports” section (https://www.nseindia.com/all-reports) for download which indicate the overall market activity security wise (like bhavcopy.csv, etc.).
Is there any particular file which contains the MARKET-CAP value for that day for ALL the NSE securities?
Basically, I am looking for downloading the market capitalization values of all the NSE stocks for each day.
Please let me know if anyone knows of such a file available for download.
Not updated on a daily basis, but NSE does put out a report which is updated in March and December with the Market Capitalisation data for stocks
A different way to get this data on a near real-time basis would be by using GOOGLEFINANCE function in Google Sheets. For NSE, the trading symbols of companies can be taken from here while for BSE, the security codes can be found here (the list downloaded from here would need to be further filtered based on Instrument as only Equity and Status as only Active). A rudimentary example implementing this but it isn’t perfect (as some companies data would be missing in Google Finance).
